a compulsory levy collected from arable growers,

exporters. It was established in 1994 and has
approximately 18 members who between them handle

is a statutory producer board whose establishment,
object and function is governed by the Pork Industry
Board Act 1997. The object of the Board is to

In pursuing its object, the Board must have regard
to the desirability of the pork industry's making
the best possible net ongoing contribution to

training days on a wide range of topics. Some
meet to discuss specific issues, such as landcare.
